Avert Crisis

An Appeal

World economy is going through a crisis. Inflation in India has already
touched a figure of 11.5%. Actual inflation is much higher than the figures
released by the Government. The crisis is mainly because of rising prices
of crude oil. Oil is not only direct source of energy for our vehicles but
is also used in production of power, plastic and almost all manufacturing
process. The increase in cost of transportation affects each and every item
of daily use.

Any urgent measures taken by the Government or RBI can only have minuscule
effect on the economic health of the country. Soon, we may be experiencing
Mexico type inflation. This will reverse the economic development and times
are not far when common man will starve for two square meals. The great
question is, "Do we depend on Government to avoid the crisis or as
enlightened citizens take our own measures to bring situation under
control".

The present energy crisis is not only result of increase in the crude oil
prices but is also due to rampant increase in use of energy. More energy
consumption means more Global Warming. Modern methods of living have
continuously added energy consumption centers. A major contributor to the
present crisis is "Over use and wastage of resources".

Statistics indicates that 37% of food produced is wasted in United States.
In India, the food wastage including damage caused by rodents range in the
order of 15 to 20%. An average American produces 20 kgs of Garbage everyday
as against 800 gms produced by an Indian.

All these wastages are finally reflected in excessive energy consumption.
The golden principle is,

"The more you consume & the more you waste
The more you produce, the more you consume energy".

If this crisis is to be averted, we must take following simple measures and
promise to ourselves that we will reduce 5% wastage and 5% consumption:

a. Do not use vehicles when it is not necessary. If
necessary, use public transport or pool the vehicle for going to office.
Purchase a cycle for short distance travels. This will improve your health
and health of the country.

b. Switch off all lights and air conditioners when not in
use.

c. Maintain the room temperature @ 240 c instead of 210 c.
This temperature is most optimum for your health.

d. Do not use chemicals in toilets. Restrict use of
detergents, disinfectants etc.,

e. Reduce the consumption of paper including toilet paper.
Encourage re-use of paper. Sell all waste news papers to the "raddiwala" as
it finally goes to re-cycle.

f. Do not waste food, water and any other items. It
finally reflects into energy consumption.

g. Reduce the consumption of luxury items. Do not buy
clothes, accessories, shoes etc., just because you have money, unless they
are most essential. Moderate your shopping habits.

By reducing 5% of consumption of crude oil, the prices can be brought down
by atleast 40%.

Believe in yourselves, you can reduce the crisis.

Ok, appreciate you recognize the problem, but you don´t name the cause of this problem. The existing, just crazy sick money system is the reason why the real production on the other side doesn´t function normaly. The correlation isn´t obvious at once but this vid will help you to understand it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vVkFb26u9g8
